Breeding Standards Are Approved by the AKC
To preserve the structure, soundness, temperament, natural abilities and personality of the Golden Retriever as described in the breed standard and to do all possible to bring their natural abilities and qualities to perfection.
To accept the standard of the breed as approved by the AKC as the only standard of excellence.
To breed for excellence for companionship, service, dog shows, field events, dockdiving events, urban trials, tracking, obedience trials and all field events.
To do our best to educate families and the public in all aspects of owning a Golden Retriever.

Working with Lorie at Firefly Retreivers was a real pleasure! She is as friendly as she is knowledgeable of her retrievers. She answered all of my questions and made herself available to me for any future questions,

Every option involved a minimum 12 hour car ride one way. Lorie suggested that she fly to the closest airport and hand deliver my puppy. Turns out she left her house at 3:00am in order to catch her flight to deliver my Abbie. I was blown away with her dedication to her breeding program.

Firefly’s Retrievers is a small kennel located in Kansas City, Missouri.

Our collective mission is to protect and advance the interest of the Golden Retriever and the Flatcoated Retriever by either participating in Conformation, Performance Sports, and/or Hunting with our own dogs, as well as conducting sanctioned matches and specialty shows, field trials, tracking tests and obedience trials, dockdiving, under the rules of the American Kennel Club, and or International IABCA Titles and educating our owners as well as the public regarding the care, training and responsible breeding of Golden Retrievers.
